今日は雨。家にいる時間が多くなったので、先日購入したTHR5Aをじっくり使ってみた。 YAMAHAのサイレントギターナイロン弦が自分のメインギターであり、これを繋ぐ。ギター側のエフェクターはオフにする。 さて、結果だが、自分の設定はマイクシミュレータがTUBE、生音とシミュレータの比率はほぼ100％シミュレータ、TONEは12時、EFFECTはゼロ、リバーブがHALLで15時、以上の設定となった。
やっぱりメインはマイクシミュレータで、これでモードを選ぶのをじっくりやった。自分としては、マイクとしては、解像度が高いコンデンサーマイクが好きなのだが、音楽的には、アバウトな感じが好きなのでダイナミックマイクも好きだったりする。なので、どちらかかな、と思っていたのだが、この解像度みたいな評価軸では、どれも自分としては甲乙つけがたかった。 で、結果はまずはTUBEを選んだわけだが、なぜか、というと音の余韻の部分の味付け。音が出た際の持続音において、「艶」みたいなものを感じたからだ。 これが、コントロールできない感じになると、返って弾きにくいのだが、かすかにかかる感じなので、自分としては、自分がすごくよいギターを弾いている気分になれた。 ということで、自分は自分としては予想外であったTUBEが気に入った。 ただ、こういう非常に微妙な違いなので、今後、いろいろ変化するかもしれない。弾く場所でも変わるかもとも思う。
TONEについては、左回しで暗く、右回しで明るくなる、とのことであったが、センターの位置で、まったく不満無かったので、とりあえずそのまま。
次に試したのはリバーブ。ディレイとリバーブがあるのだが、ソロギターにおいては、リバーブ一択。しかもHALLでこのかけ具合を調整した。結果は、自分としては、思ったより控えめかな、という15時。もっとフルフルになるかも、と思っていたのだが、結構リッチにかかるので、逆に音楽表現が埋もれないように、という気にかけ方となった。
最後に、EFFECT。コーラスもきれいで、曲によってはありだな、と思う。 しかし、自分が今回最も気になっていたのがコンプレッサー。音の粒を揃えてくれるのは、実際のステージとかを含めて、自分には武器になる、と思っているもの。 で、結果としては、家でこのサイレントギターを弾く分には入れなくてよい、となった。このコンプレッサーは、「音量は適切なのに、音圧が高く感じられ、右手のコントロールが思うようにならない」と感じるようなことがクラスタのフリーコンサートで時々あるのだが、こういうときに、使えるのでは、と思っているもの。従い、そういうときのための、「奥の手」として持っておこう、と思った。
以上、あっという間に１時間以上、遊べてしまった。音は非常によくて、すごく満足。 次は、これもサイレントギターだが、トラベラーギターで、同じようなことをやってみたいと思う。
■Comfort of THR5A
It's raining today. Since I spend more time at home, I tried using the THR5A I bought the other day. YAMAHA's silent guitar nylon strings are my main guitar, and I connect them. Turn off the effector on the guitar side. Well, as a result, my setting was TUBE for the microphone simulator, the ratio of the live sound and the simulator was almost 100% simulator side, TONE for 12:00, EFFECT zero, reverb HALL 15:00.
I noted a little detail as below.
The main is a microphone simulator, and I carefully chose the mode with this. As a mic, I like condenser mics with high resolution, but from a musical perspective, I like about things, so I also like dynamic mics. So, I was wondering if it was either, but in the evaluation axis like this resolution, it was hard to compare merit.
So, I chose TUBE as the result, but for some reason, it was the seasoning of the afterglow of the sound. It was because I felt something like "glossy" in the continuous sound when the sound was produced.
When it feels out of control, it's difficult to play back, but it feels a little bit so I felt like I was playing a very good guitar.
So, I liked TUBE, which was unexpected for me.
However, these very subtle differences may change in the future. I think it may change depending on where I play.
Regarding TONE, it was said that turning it counterclockwise would make it darker, and turning it clockwise would make it brighter.
The next thing I tried was REVERB. There is a delay and a reverb, but on a solo guitar, the reverb is an option. Moreover, I adjusted the condition with HALL. At 15:00, the result was more modest than I expected. I was wondering if it would be fuller, but it was quite rich, so on the contrary, I thought that the musical expression should not be buried.
Final I tried EFFECT. The chorus is beautiful, and I think it depends on the song.
However, what I was most concerned about this time was the compressor. I think that it will be a tool for me, including the actual stage, to arrange the sound grain.
So, as a result, I didn't have to pay for playing this silent guitar at home. I sometimes feel that the sound volume is appropriate, but the sound pressure is high, and the control of the right hand does not seem to be as desired. I think that this compressor is useful for such situation. Therefore, I thought that I should keep it as a "next countermeasure" for such a case.
As mentioned above, I was able to play for more than an hour in no time. The sound is very good and I am very satisfied.
Next, I would like to do the same thing with a traveler guitar which is another silent guitar I own.
