ここ数年、ナイロン弦ギターの使用ばかりだったが、この一か月はスチール弦ギターも多く弾くようになった。割合として、半々くらい。 理由は、２つ。 まず１つ目は、半音下げチューニングをして、指への負担が軽くなったこと。 左指の指先も楽になったし、右指の爪のダメージも少ない。その結果、音色の表現とかを、より気を付けられるようになったため弾いていて楽しい。 もう１つが、ドロップDの曲で弾きたい曲がでてきたため。 ナイロン弦でチューニングを変えると、半音でもそれなりにペグを回さねばならず、安定しにくい。 一方、スチール弦の低音は、少しペグを回すとかなり大きく音程が変わる。つまりチューニングするのが楽。 弾いてみると、スチール弦ならでは、の音のよさもあって、改めて楽しい。 次回のクラスタフリーコンサートは、ナイロン弦の予定だが、そのうち、スチール弦でもやりたい。

On the other hand, the pitch of the steel string bass changes considerably when the peg is turned a little. In other words, tuning is easy.
When I played it, it was fun again because of the good sound of steel strings.
The next Classta’s free concert is scheduled for nylon strings, but I'd like to do it with steel strings as well.
